Become a book reviewer for Black Literature Magazine!
- Reviewers must be available to review at least one book per month. Books will be sent to you that match the preferences you have set with us (unless you ask otherwise.)
- Reviewers are required not to review the same book they are reviewing for us for other publications and not to send copies of their reviews to publishers or authors.
- We expect reviews to be based on thorough, fair, and careful reading. Therefore, we ask that all reviews be based on a critical appraisal of both content and execution only. You are reviewing the work, not the author personally.
- Book reviews should be at least 400 – 500 words.
- While it is our policy to edit as little as possible when need be, reviews may be reorganized or condensed when necessary and minor changes are made, but the reviewers stated opinion will always be preserved.
- Reviewers keep all books sent to them. However, if you fail to complete the review in a timely manner, you WILL be required to return the bo0k or be charged for it.
- There is no payment for reviews.
